Manual.
Everything you need to set up, operate, maintain, and get the most out of your Flyway Deputy Motion Duck Decoy.
Register Your DecoyTwist open the cap on the underside of the decoy to access the battery port. The cap is threaded — turn counterclockwise to open.
Plug in your 4AA battery pack or the Jahpoo rechargeable battery (sold separately). Make sure the connector is fully seated before closing.
Close the cap and tighten until snug. Align the cap with the screw threads carefully — a proper seal is essential for waterproofing. Do not overtighten.
Connect a decoy rig of your choice. We recommend a 4–6 oz mushroom weight for most conditions. The weight keeps the decoy anchored and in the correct feeding position.
Place the decoy in your spread and press the ON button on the waterproof remote. The motor will begin immediately. Range is up to 30 yards.
When finished, press the OFF button on the remote and allow the decoy to come to rest in its resting position before retrieving. Disconnect the battery pack before storing — do not leave it connected.
The Flyway Deputy accepts two power sources. Use only fresh, undamaged batteries appropriate for the decoy. Inspect battery terminals for corrosion or debris before inserting.
| Option | Type | Run Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4AA Battery Pack | AA Alkaline or Lithium | 8+ hours continuous | Included with decoy. Lithium AA batteries perform better in extreme cold. |
| Jahpoo Rechargeable Battery | Lithium Ion (compatible) | Varies by capacity | Sold separately. Use only Jahpoo Outdoors, Ltd. compatible rechargeable batteries. |
Important: Do not use damaged, leaking, or corroded batteries. Do not leave batteries installed during long periods of storage or during lightning storms. Disconnect the battery pack when not in use. Improper battery handling may result in fire, chemical leakage, or device damage.
Storage temperature: Do not store batteries or the decoy in environments above 110°F (43°C). Store indoors between 60–100°F in a dry location out of direct sunlight.
Make sure the decoy battery pack is connected and the cap is sealed before attempting to pair.
Hold the remote's pairing button for 3 seconds until the LED indicator begins to blink, signaling the remote is in pairing mode.
The decoy will confirm pairing with a brief motor pulse. Once paired, the remote controls that decoy exclusively until re-paired. You're ready to hunt.
Proper care extends the life of your Flyway Deputy significantly. Follow these guidelines after every use and during storage.
Press OFF on the remote and allow the decoy to come to rest before retrieving. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth — avoid solvents or abrasives. After saltwater use, rinse with fresh water. Allow to fully dry before storage. Disconnect the battery pack.
Store indoors in a dry, ventilated space between 60–100°F, away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, or humidity. Store in a decoy bag to protect the paint and reduce impact damage. Do not stack heavy objects on top of the decoy. For long-term storage, use a padded or protective case.
Open the battery port, remove the battery, and allow the interior to air out for at least 48 hours. Place a silica gel packet inside if available. Do not operate until fully dry.
Do not: Expose the decoy to excessive heat, open flames, or fire. Do not operate in freezing conditions if internal water exposure is possible. Do not drop, disassemble, deform, or modify the decoy. Do not insert objects into electrical or mechanical ports. Keep the battery cap and connector clear of moisture, dust, and debris.
Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow safety guidelines may result in injury, fire, or mechanical failure. The Flyway Deputy is authorized for outdoor hunting use only as a motion decoy.
Do not modify, disassemble, or use unapproved accessories or electrical systems. Do not allow children to play with the device. Turn off the product before boarding an aircraft. Do not place the decoy near strong magnetic fields.
If overheating, smoke, unusual odor, or abnormal behavior occurs during use: stop immediately, remove the battery pack, and contact info@jahpoo.com.
Inspect the decoy for visible damage, corrosion, or debris before each use. Ensure battery terminals are clean and dry before inserting batteries.
Environmental disposal: Do not dispose of the decoy or batteries in household garbage, fire, or water. Follow all applicable local regulations for electronic and battery disposal.
What is covered: Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions.
What is not covered: Normal wear and tear, misuse, unauthorized service or modification, accidents, neglect, abuse, improper maintenance, acts of nature, and subjective claims. Promotional items are excluded entirely.
