The Matte Black pulls double duty. On open water, its flat dark finish reads as a natural coot from altitude with zero glare. In high-brightness conditions — snow on the ground, bluebird days, or late season sun cutting low across the marsh — that same dark silhouette becomes your most visible decoy in the spread. When everything else washes out in the white or the sun's glare, the Matte Black holds contrast and keeps your setup readable from a long way off.

When to run the Matte Black: Any open water setup, any species. Place it on the outer edge of your spread or run it between your duck decoys and your goose spread as a bridge bird.
